The salient feature of the units design are the three control microprocessors. These were specially developed by AEG SVS for use in uninterruptible power supply systems. They monitor and control the rectifier, inverter and static switch units simultaneously. Because in the field of UPS, we feel that nothing should be left to chance. High performance, compact size, safe operation

SVS Protect 4. offers a combination of the highest reliability with efficient modern technology. A 12 pulse rectifier with sinusoidal mains supply current consumption to DIN 41773, a 3 phase invert and a static switch unit are all integrated in one single compact housing. The following configuration of components ensures a reliable constant AC supply to the load. Independent microprocessor control for battery charging, inverter and static switch probide a fully digital control system, making Protect 4. the most advanced system available. The UPS is completely static and provides an uninterrupted supply without any mechanical components. The SVS Protect 4. also possesses a sophisticated remote monitoring system and a definable automatic shutdown feature for separate load feeders.

The SVS Protect 1. probides the IT/EDP sector with a highperformance,robust and easy to use online UPS unit which also demonstrates conbincing economic arguments. 

A signicant factor for process security in the IT sector is an uninerruptible power supply.Although the availability of the European grid is exemplary at 99.98,it is still possible that there are about 150 intermittent power outages detectable per annum in a local power system. Furthermore, there can be high voltage peak surges , voltage and frequency fluctuations, distorted voltage waveforms and even complete power cuts. In the IT sector, these can lead to lost date, system crashes as well as permanent hardware and software damage.Generally speaking, such losses and damage entail considerable financial costs and are bad for the image of the company concerned.

The SVS Protect 1. operates according to the double converter principle and is designed for use in surge protection zone 3 as standard. However, it can be upgraded with specially adapted safety modules to offer proben service in surge protection zones 1 and 2.

The connected network can be shut down and rebooted according to calendar entries or whenever required. Naturally, individual workstations can be controlled in this way as well.
